Language Specialists Celebrate New Launch

Thursday 25th February 2010 saw local language specialists, Sign Solutions, host the official launch of their new 3-year strategy which will bring new revenues into the area to fund the growth and the creation of local jobs.

Sign Solutions, based at brand new offices in Old Rectory Lane, Alvechurch, used the opportunity to showcase their exciting new state-of-the-art video interpreting services which was partially funded by their recent Innovation Networks award from Coventry University Enterprises.

To crown this milestone in their history, Sign Solutions held a Champagne Reception attended by around 50 guests including not one but TWO local dignitaries - Councillor Chris Scurrell, Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, and Councillor Malcolm Hall, Mayor of Redditch.

The evening was kicked off with a warm welcome to everyone from joint-owner Gloria Ogborn who wanted to particularly commemorate 3 significant milestones in the organisation's history - their new premises and training facilities, and two exciting new services - spoken language interpreting/translation and video interpreting.

The Champagne Reception was then officially "opened" by Councillor Scurrell who described the reception as "awe inspiring" and said, "from the moment I walked into the office I became impressed that here was a very business-like and friendly organization. Sign Solutions provides good quality jobs, as well as providing a vital service to the community in general and the Deaf community in particular. On behalf of Bromsgrove District Council, I wish it well in the future".

Fellow joint-owner, Sean Nicholson, went on to recognise Sign Solutions' 12 years in business, saying "our experience and reputation of high quality service provision enables us to enter new markets with new innovations, working with partners in the UK and US. We will deliver video interpreting this year and train interpreters to deliver in this domain effectively. We will deliver telephone interpreting this year, using UK based interpreters. Our training centre is going from strength to strength and our Deaf Awareness Training is the best in the country".

To demonstrate their new video interpreting services, all of these speeches were interpreted by live video link for Deaf guests.

Sign Solutions' new technologies and services are aimed at revolutionising the way that local and national private and public sector organisations procure language services, giving them a far greater choice and also offering efficiency savings without compromising on quality.
